# Aktualisierungen & Versionskompatibilität
GeoDin Onsite enthält ein **automatische Prüfung auf Aktualisieren**. Kurz nach dem Start der Anwendung verbindet sich das System mit dem GeoDin-Ressourcenserver, um zu prüfen, ob eine neuere Version Verfügbar ist.
* Wenn ein Aktualisieren gefunden wird, erscheint ein Hinweisfenster.
* Auswählen **Aktualisieren** wird das neueste Installationsprogramm zum Herunterladen angeboten.
* Das Installationsprogramm entfernt Automatisch die Vorige Version und installiert die Neu.
Dieser Prozess gewährleistet, dass Benutzer Immer Zugriff auf die neuesten Funktionen, Verbesserungen und Sicherheitskorrekturen haben.
## 1. Abwärtskompatibilität
Alle Neu-Versionen von GeoDin Onsite sind mit **Abwärtskompatibilität**. Das bedeutet, dass Beliebig Daten, die in älteren Versionen erstellt wurden, weiterhin geöffnet und in neueren Releases verwendete werden können.
## 2. Vorwärtskompatibilität
Allerdings ist das Gegenteil nicht garantiert. Wenn ein Kollege mit einer neueren Version arbeitet und eine Datei erstellt, ist diese Datei in einer älteren Version der Software möglicherweise nicht Verfügbar. Aus diesem Grund wird dringend Empfohlen, dass Alle Teammitglieder ihre Installationen auf dem neuesten Stand beibehalten.
